John David Morris, 75, of Hell Hole Swamp, SC passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017.
Visitation will be Monday evening, August 14, 2017 from 6 until 8 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2 pm. Burial will be private. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations can be made to Mt. Calvary PH Church, 3336 N. HWY 17A, Bonneau, SC 29431.
John was born October 31, 1941 in Moncks Corner, SC, the son of Harvey Augustus Morris, Sr. and Edith Fenters Morris. He was a surveyor and musician/song writer, and honorably served in the US Navy. John's love and passion for music will be what he is remembered for the most. Everyone he met was touched by his singing and playing. Even in his last days he played and sang for every visitor, nurse, family and friend. John loved his family and friends more than anything, most of which were never called by their real names, as John had a nitch for making "nicknames" for everyone he met. John was a private person but his faith and personal relationship with Jesus showed through in his last days. He was very grateful to Rev. Jack Todd, "The Holy Man" for being with him and ministering to him throughout his short battle with cancer. He will forever be missed by his family and friends. Go rest high on that mountain, Dad!
John leaves behind his sister, Jeanette Crum of Mt. Pleasant; four sons, John David Sexton (Cheryl), Waylon Clyde Sexton (Shannon), James Daryl Morris (Kristy), and Dale Duane Morris (Shelly); nine grandchildren, Kristen, David, Waylon, Shelby, Quinton, Katelyn, Parker, Easton, and Brody; five great-grandchildren, McKenzie, McKailyn, McKinley, Haylee, and Harper; many nieces and nephews; and Edwardine Morris, whom he loved very much, and who helped to care for him and never left his side.

Celebrating the life of John David Morris
Thank you for signing John David Morris's Guestbook
My condolences to the Morris family. I know this is a difficult time for the family and I pray God comforts and strengthens the family during this difficult time. May the may cherished and loving memories of John comfort his family and friends. A comforting thought to keep in mind is at Psalm 147:3 "He (God) heals the brokenhearted; he binds up their wounds." The family is in my prayers
