On October 3, 2017, Curt Allison Roane, 95 years old, left this side of Heaven to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior. As he answered his Savior’s call to come home, he was greeted by the sound of angels singing, as his departed wife of 68 years, Louise, embraced him with a smile and her blue eyes sparkling. She has been anxiously waiting for him since she left us in 2009.

Born April 26, 1922, he joins his departed parents and four siblings. He is survived by his sister, Selma Ledford of Franklin, NC. Gene Gene (as he was affectionately known by his special great grandson, Austin) was the father of Joyce Roane Scott of Summerville, and Doyle Curt Roane of Charleston. He had five beautiful granddaughters, as well as five great grandchildren.

He was an expert carpenter/brick mason and was outstanding at his trade. He loved to garden and will be remembered for the delicious vegetables that he grew. He definitely had a “green thumb” and it was said that he “could put a stick in the ground and it would flourish.” He will be remembered as a good Christian father who made sure his family was in church every time the doors were open.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the “angels” at Magnolias of Summerville. These ladies loved him like he was their own father. Also, the family thanks Hospice Care of SC (especially Doris Jenkins) who was always there for support and comfort. Donations in memory of Curt or Louise may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407.
