Hans Reinhardt Schaab

Hans Reinhardt Schaab, 77, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 1 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Hans to the Dorchester Animal Society, www.dorchesterpaws.org.

Hans was born on August 8, 1948, in Germany to the late Helmut and Elizabeth Schaab. He proudly served in the United States Navy for many years, carrying with him a deep sense of duty and commitment to his country. For 50 beautiful years, Hans was devoted to his beloved wife and best friend, Margaret. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and shared adventure. Side by side, they traveled the world, creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew them. Hans had a lifelong passion for soccer, especially cheering on both the United States and German national teams. He also found great joy in music of all kinds, always appreciating the way it brought people together and added richness to life.

Hans is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Schaab of Summerville, SC; sons, Richard Schaab of Overland Park, KS, Steven Schaab of Summerville, SC. He is predeceased by his parents, Helmut and Elizabeth Schaab; and brother, Peter Schaab.
